Australia Day 2023

AUSDenver celebrated Australia’s 122nd birthday in a manner that would make Aussies back home jealous. Hosted at Australian-owned Darcy’s Bistro & Pub Honorary consul (and AUSDenver President) James Waddell presided over the event as Master of Ceremony and ensured that everyone, Aussies and Yanks alike, had a festive time.

The kid friendly event had a face painter and balloon artist on site with a full food menu including Aussie pies and sausage Rolls. Coopers beer and Aussie wines also flowed.

There were adult vegemite and kid fairy bread eating contests (including one for Vegemite Virgins that called for a quick round of beer to wash down the new taste sensations) and an amazing Peter Garrett dance contest. 

Loud sing-along favorites were played by local All-Australian band “Divvy Six”.
